Price £960 (excluding flights)

I am delighted to be offering a stunning yoga and meditation trip to Zambia in Spring 2009. Our hosts, Norman Carr Safaris (Zambia's original safari company), has been operating photographic and walking safaris in the South Luangwa National Park since 1950. They are known for the incredibly high level of service that they offer guests. Please see their website for full details, videos and pictures: www.normancarrsafaris.com
I am reliably informed (by a friend at Cox and Kings Travel) that this is one of the best Safaris in Africa. Beyond hanging out with wild elephants, giraffe, hippos, crocodilles, lions and such like, we shall also have a Hatha yoga class and an evening meditation class per day, overlooking the water. It will be a truly amazing place to dive deep into our yoga, surrounded by such abundant and diverse nature.
As you will see from the price, they are offering us an exceptional discount for an 8 night stay at Kapani Lodge (usually £200 per night); our low price is contingent on us becoming a party of 10 and we will need 10 provisional bookings by 30 September 08 to secure this rate. One of the reasons we have been offered such a great price is that, though they have never had yoga there before, their MD is a lapsed yogi and is very keen to have us! Consequently they have offered us the use of a large 8m x 6m thatched deck on which to practice yoga, over-looking the lively Hippo Lagoon. The whole 'Camp' only holds 20 guests max, so we are likely to have much of the site to ourselves.
Included in the price: all meals (I am told the food is amazing), airport transfers in Mfuwe (to and from local airport), morning game viewing activity, expert guiding, laundry and local taxes. The overall price is based on two sharing. The only extras to pay for include: national park fees and levies at around £18pppd, plus any afternoon game drives you wish to make (charged at around £13pp), and bar bills.
A word on dates: we will fly out from Heathrow on 1 April 09, arriving at Kapani Lodge on Thursday 2 April. We will then spend 8 nights in the Bush and leave the camp on Friday 10 April, to stay overnight in Lusaka and fly out on Sat 11th April, back to LHR.
HOW TO BOOK: If you are interested in joining us for this trip , please email kapani@normancarrsafaris.com ASAP saying you would like to be put on the provisional list. A list of names is now growing and we need to know provisional numbers by the end of Sept 08. As soon as we have reached the magic number of 10, I will confirm to all parties that the trip is taking place.
(P.S. do call me on 020 7978 7995 if you would like to ask me any questions about this trip)

"So long as students book their flight (on travelrepublic.co.uk you can often just put down 75 pounds at this point) we are happy to wait until after christmas for deposits. But students MUST talk to us on 01273 564230 before booking their flight - to make sure they get the right flight to be able to catch the ferry. Absolutely OK to take non-yoga partners as village is in easy walking distance and its a fun relaxed venue."
1-4 May (optional extra night Sunday - to enjoy the May Day monday celebrations)

The first of this year's two 'Yogic weekends' in a beautiful and rustic old country house, taught by Angus and Nadia. This will include: four in-depth Hatha classes, Country walks, two morning Meditation classes, Thai massage and excellent veggie food—plus another spectacular bonfire on Saturday night! Please note that the house is a thriving 'living community' and is not a pristine 'hotel-type' venue (there are no 'fluffy white slippers' here!) It will be a weekend of great yoga, excellent company and deep rest... We arrive at 4pm on friday for first class at 6pm. See previous photos on the holiday photos page http://www.batterseayoga.com/gallery/ and read what previous students had to say about it on the 'what people say' page. Visit www.braziers.org.uk for more details of the house.

May I thank all of you that have joined me on recent yogic trips to Azores, Thailand, Morocco and Braziers. I hope you enjoyed being on them them as much as I enjoyed leading them... the last few trips have been a huge joy to teach. I look forward to seeing you on the next adventure.
